It's pathetic what has happened to the Herald.

1. Once upon a time, I could go there to read about the most pressing issue of the hour, but now - I go there and see unicorn babies. For HOURS. When other, actually important things are happening!

(Part of the reason for that is you are no longer conscientiously covering things and posting there.)

Now it's a "hobby site." For people who write as a hobby. (And believe me, that shows.)

So now, I know NOT to go there first if I want to read coverage about, say, the "The Grid Now Belongs to Corporations" LL blog entry.

Now I know to go there for random supposedly-titillating tidbit pieces. (Which I'm not interested in anyway.) Those pieces used to be part of the mix you could overlook; now they are the main diet, with NO ONE covering what's important or timely.

2. No strong authority at the helm. Used to be, Uri would keep the comments on track with a dry and well-placed cutting phrase or two.

Now, it's an absurd, predictable parody of itself, with no one at the helm. Prok posts something, and fifteen people instantly show up to post crap about Prok. Above all else, that is BORING.

(And by the way, I don't think that Artemis Fate fellow realizes how obsessed he comes off as, unfortunately. It really lowers his coinage when he always appears predictably among the various "getalifes" and other such types.)

3. The editors and whoever sets up this "Junior Editor" business, with the picture problem (that is ludicrous) are really using the whole SLH as their own little power play over others. No one wants to read a newspaper where the fact that children are running things is so apparent. Children's little power plays and conceits are boring.

I don't know what happened - if Uri sold it to someone else, or what. But he might as well forget trying to save it now, unless he is going to run it himself like he once did.

Your mistake, Prokofy, was posting to the Herald. If you do that again, I'll put you in timeout.

Prokofy Neva

Khamon, you never said a truer word. I'm ashamed. *Hangs head*.

joe

Yes, the Herald is nothing more than a trashy ripoff of The Enquirer these days. Nothing of any importance written.

Because you fail to tell the whole story:
1. Following your request to remove it, I did, because it was clear that Pixeleen was at fault, not you.
2. I apologized for getting that fact wrong.
3. Your reaction could have been a simply, non-hostile IM correcting me. Instead, you not only went on for almost a dozen twitters, but you've made a blog entry here.

Is this how you deal with people all your life? Why is it when prok makes a mistake, she pleads with people to forgive her and not lambast her, but when other people do, they get immediately (within 2 minutes) put on the "Enemies" list? That is absolute hypocrisy.

The only thing I wonder - Did your anger and hostility towards people make you this way, or have you been doing this all your life to people make you angry and hostile? Or maybe, probably, it's a vicious cycle. I've given you plenty of second-chances, Prok - I'm really hoping one day you'll break this cycle and chill out.

Hope you're well. Glad you're still writing. I hope you gave Pixeleen half as hard of a time as me over the photo credits.

What good does it do you if you remove a nasty piece of shit like that when loads of people have already seen it, and it has done the damage? And you don't apologize, but act belligerent, as if you merely removed it just because it was "technically incorrect" but of course you still THINK it.

Not only will I go on for a dozen twitters, I'll make 100 blog entries if I have to. This fucked-up default nasty creator-fascist crap has got to stop. This is fucking SOCIAL MEDIA goddamn it. GET OVER YOUR FUCKING SELF.

I've never "pleaded with people not to lambast me," that's utter bullshit. For example, on this matter of the Sheep? And the claim that they had prior knowledge and benefit from Copybot based on the client in the garment business? I corrected the incorrect thing about this statement -- no client, no garment business, no benefit. But they did have prior knowledge. And they do in fact continue to benefit from all the bot stuff in a thousand ways. And maybe someday this story will get told.

Whereas the story of me supposedly not respecting people's copyright isn't some secret story that will be told because I've never stolen anybody's copyright, it is a base lie.

Um, you're the one who has been given a second chance. There won't be anymore. You are an asshole. That's now confirmed.

otakup0pe Neumann

It's good to know that the story of copybot still prevails. The sheep had no involvement with copybot, but they and others do benefit from the technology of libsecondlife.

Prokofy Neva

Yes, indeed it still prevails, because a) copybot in fact still persists in certain forms in SL and b) I simply don't buy that the ESC had "no involvement" when 1) FlipperPA knew about it ahead of time and even claims he tried to stop it and 2) Christan was in a group and on IRC channels discussing it and 3) Jerry Paffendorf was at the testing of it; and 4) Cory Edo was the first to describe on the forums. So to say they had "no involvement" is misleading. Also, is libsl a source on this? Certainly it's a source with a vested interest.
