So I went to the i-World fandango yesterday -- and I didn't even have to break my vow to be Done With the Lindens because there wasn't a Linden in sight for hours on this 24-hour rock concert -- they put some select residents up to minding it.
The acts all seemed to be great -- there were old friends like KaClick and Frogg and Jaycatt, and also some new people I hadn't heard who were great -- a Scottish singer named POL, shown here bravely getting his boots wet in Linden water...oops, that's just my lousy SL on Windlight.
There were the usual girls demonstrating with FIX SL signs, it was a lag-o-than. Lots of bitching on the forums, to the effect of, why don't you fix our game instead of putting in these lame events?! And the fanboyz who say, but Lindens shouldn't have to work on weekends lol.
I find it increasingly hard to go to the live music acts these days because of this:

Mimi Carpenter shouts: WOOOOHOOOO POL
Rynard Benedict: hehe
Jangles Jervil: ???????? APPLAUSE ????? ????? !!!!!!
Derrik Beck: wooooooo
Mixa Villota: yes
The people saying WOOOO aren't just typing that -- they have automatic noise makers that keep a sound click saying this for everybody to hear along with the music every few minutes. I wish the event organizers would boot people who spam chat with dumbass teen text like that and sound makers.
Even the Lindens -- those hippie freaks -- are getting a teensy weensy bit annoyed at the prevalence of miscreant behaviour in public places. They have now put up a sign banning recruitment, sales, noise, etc. at the welcome areas. The sign is on clear texture with very light brown design almost indistinguishable from the design in this steampunk sort of build, so no one pays a bit of attention to it, but you know, it's there to be referenced lol.
The bitching about overfull sims was actually misplaced -- to be sure one had 88 on it through the day, but what you had to "just know" about this was to click on one of the other sims. There were about 400 regularly throughout the day, but often 10-20 spaces open if you just clicked away from the greendots.
The rest of the sims were deserted. The build there -- a bland sort of Neualtenberg meets Boardman, textures boiled, not baked, replete with Barnesworth cherry trees -- is meant as a "resident showcase*. Yes, organized FIC. Institutionalized. Check out the sign:
So, if you are found to be "of value to the community" (whatever that means, and whatever "the community" is defined as -- rolls eyes), then you get in.
Judging by the number of empty stalls on day of show, they were having a hard time...
I checked out some little miniature museum spaces (to hear it told on the forums originally, It thought it was going to be MUCH bigger), and found some very credible scultpures -- Sue Stonebender, Pumpkin Tripsa, Fallingwater Cellardoor and some others. You have to poke around a bit to find the room with this in it -- it's in the houses there.
