So to continue on the review of the Arcade -- and as you know I am BOYCOTTING ARCADE and refusing to go on this sim for three reasons:
- 50 pull prize (50!!) that is on NON-TRANSFER. Wrong!
- Prices now $75, $85 even $100. Wrong!
- And I want the organizers to ask the Lindens WHAT HAPPENED with the LindEx
Here is my essay on this subject and the first part of my review. I would say in general the prizes aren't all that and 50 pulls is a ridiculous way to get them, as that is at least $2,500 (!) on many of them. Ridiculous! Greedy!
DRD's Lovers' Nest just doesn't appeal. The house is identical to one I saw on somebody else's gatcha (was it ChiMia?) and sold as a rare on the MP. Is this some bulders' buddy thing? Not "original mesh"? Plus, a lot of it looks dustbunnyish or like the lacy things Zerkalo keeps doing (waiting for them to stop).
Satan's Little Helpers by Drot are creepy. It's funny, I have some reindeer skulls for path markers at Shaman's Hut but I definitely don't want these creepsters. You know what else is creepy? The $75 price tag. Ugh.
Dustbunny has kind of done what they always do. Weird to take an RV and dustbunnify it LOL. I like the skull with flowers and it's not a rare so I should get that at a yardsale.

The rose cup is like what AF already did. Apothecary cabinets, yeesh, I have 4 of those from other artists. The typewriter is nice but you know who else made a typewriter with like a "rustic" thing already? Half+deer.
I dare say we will soon see 8 million belted pillows because that's what everyone will get on the way to getting their 50-pull prize ( vine-covered piano) and that RV.
Fancy Decor has a theme I've never seen before (it may be unique) and a RIDEABLE gondola! I guess that's the rare. All the other things are fairly unique and the prize is a playable organ. I suppose this is the best item at the Arcade, bar none. Happily, you will only drain your account in $50 increments to get that gondola.

Fancy Decor also has another throw pillow gatcha which isn't very memorable (predictable Boho etc) but I will try to get the deer one.
Floorplan has another neon gatcha. Not so impressive. The "oracle" one is different, I guess. I have found these sell TERRIBLY at yardsales because people don't like neon signs as much as SL creators think they do (and signs in general, they are all obsessed with making cutesy signs and I wonder if anyone puts them up because I see so few do.)
Dolls, Chihuahuas, that...thing...that Fashionable Dead has put out called "Sweet Meat" (ugh). I don't like stuff like this. I don't want it. I don't want to wear it on me. I do see Japanese girls doing this though.
Half+Deer -- just too many wearables. Next.
The one exception I will make for animal things is Hextraordinary. I love the meowls and I love the phoenix. These pegasus ones are ok but a little too cutesie.

Beach Corgi, Chub Dragons...nope. Dragon hairsticks, seems like a nice idea but not for us.
I'm getting the strong feeling that there is just nothing that compelling at the Arcade this round and I feel not a twinge of regret for taking my lonely stance of boycotting it.
I usually like keke's stuff, but lately, I haven't as much. It's just a matter of taste I guess, or perhaps saturation. I don't want any more twinkly hanging things. I'm happy to have boxes or bottles I guess but I feel like I already have ones like these. Do you put beer and ice in a suitcase? Really?
Message in a bottle and candles in a pot are cool as are those stick chairs.

Things like keke's grass chair and her zinc trays can rescue an entire blah event for me, but this? Well, I'm glad I'm not pulling 50 times and getting those shells.
The 50-pull prize is something she calls "beach pavilion". I'm not sure why. It looks like no beach pavilion in the universe (certainly zero privacy or room to even turn around or benches). It looks more like a gazebo. Actually, it looks like a very small "besedka" which is the Russian answer to the gazebo, the name literally means "chat" or "conversation" so you would sit in it and talk if you wanted privacy and didn't want to be overhead in the house. The top looks like the half moons on a spear that Muslims have on graves in Russia (and perhaps elsewhere). Odd thing, really.
Danger, danger, danger. You will get TOO MANY HATS pulling for that rack or that rare shelf.
It being June, the Loft has a wedding reception gatcha. You will have seen these things a million times before, even if a "Mr. and Mrs. Chair" is unique. The cake is kind of cardboardy but is a texture change.
Lost Junction has a snow cone machine which is cool. Too many platters of other stuff which will litter yardsales now. You need to put your price in guys!

MadPea doesn't look like itself at all with these neon colours. Black Bantam had lanterns like that which did not sell anywhere, at all, ever. At least the pinata is animated. So many of the other things are AWFUL.

MP probably wanted to coast on this one, which is fine as they have overproduced lately and had great things like the Return of the Light.
MudHoney shouldn't do cut-outs as ads but more photorealism.
Looks like Nomad decided to coast too. This is HIDEOUS. Who makes a rare out of a pile of zebra-striped junk?! Possibly some of this stuff will look better inworld instead of as a cut-out like the pelican lamp.

This is original art by Nylon Outfitters and you may want it.
These actual collectible collectible things by Omen, I dunno, hard to find where to put them. Maybe no. 6.
I don't understand Plaaka. The Hill Side Deli does not look like any deli I know, and obviously, the home of delis in New York City. OK, maybe Rome or something, but still. You don't have refrigerators in a deli with refrigerator art. Yes, it's SL. No, not distressed wood with shiny metal. It's just odd.
See what I mean? No.

Other Hillside Deli stuff at events had this absolutely indescribable weird food in a bain-marie.
Random Matter has decided to venture into a frontier that has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE IN SL, the Old Attic with Junk! Imagine! Ok, snark.
RM has better skills than most. At last, with that corner cabinet, you can have what you paid a lot for that vintage barber cabinet by AF for: a corner cabinet. Without the barber stuff in it. Yay!
Gramophone, no. Not only did MadPea do one at 6Republic, everyone else and his brother has done them from time immemorial and no one has ever done them better than Sue Stonebender who alas is no longer in world. I have some gorgeous antique ones of hers, high prim but great.
I'll go out on a limb here and say that I don't think I need another bird cage in Second Life. I think I'm good with the broken chair stock, too.
Gatchas that mix clothes with stuff always annoy me because I definitely don't want the clothes. I like this flamingo towel for the Flamingo Court.

Have to stop now, I'm going crazy!
