So, last night I was adding some decorations to my office, when I had a complaint that there weren't any prims left on the sim. And all of a sudden I noticed there were only 65 prims left on the entire sim in my group. As there are usually thousands in a buffer, I thought I had put out by accident one of those hugely high-prim wands or crowns or something that maybe was an outfit intended to be worn. I looked all over and can't find anything on my office lots. So I methodically began to comb every lot in the group on the sim of Alston, thinking someone left jewelry or hair or something by accident -- that's usually how it happens.
I then find that on the lot next to my office lot there are 1700 plus prims just from one of the three tenants living there -- and all together, it was nearly quadruple what they were paying for. This tenant happened to build her own house and did a very good job. I thought perhaps -- again -- some piece of jewelry or crown or something was out so I IM'd her and asked her to look around. She began looking all over in the sky and ground -- she had a work platform out.
I went through the house on the ground and while there were a few high-prim things in the 30s, there was nothing like jewelry or a crown that could explain it (or growing flowers or pets of some kind). I immediately returned the vehicle that was over 30, a few other things just so that the other tenants could at least put out some prims while I tried to figure out what was going on.
I could note that most landlords have automatic systems that would have returned all these prims instantly, no questions, or if they had a complaint or noticed it themselves and didn't have an automatic system, they'd return everything because you can't have a situation in a group rentals where people who pay for prims can't put them out.
I realized that this situation had probably been going on for awhile -- the tenant has been taking ages to build her house, and there was a lot of plywood and yardsticks out for weeks on end but I didn't complain for the simple reason that the three other tenants on this sim with stores or homes are all up in the sky, and what's on the ground generally doesn't disturb them. My office is on the ground, but I'm not going to fuss about plywood when someone is trying to build a house -- that's only something I'd encourage and reward nowadays, it is so rare.
BTW I should note that this particular property rented quite cheaply for the simple reason that I had displays of skyboxes up in the sky on that property: $550/710 prims per month. That's US $7.40 per month for a mid-size hilltop and waterfront property at 0.77/per prim. That's pretty cheap.
In a group, prims work differently; my prims don't count on their count, and they can rent the ground or any part of the sky not taken up by the displays. The displays of skyboxes I have in the sky for tenants who might want one placed were put in a giant moon simply because the view of them from the Celtic Mystical Forest just was too ugly. Megaprim domes do not lag a sim -- I'm in that office all the time, I have tenants who have literally been there for years on end, and there wasn't any lag, which you check with the browser periodically. The lease specifically states that my prims are in the sky, and it is rented on those conditions. Since this person mainly seemed to need a workshop to build on the ground and the sky, it seemed a perfect fit. But I've also had people in a mansion there who were perfectly happy. My rentals are cheap and I do things manually -- I don't instantly return prims.
All last night -- I was up most of the night working on a RL job anyway as it happened in the other window -- this tenant struggled with the over-prims situation -- in good faith, and I was in repeated communication with her. I pointed out to her that if she had linked her house up in the yellow box with any kind of mesh thing or twisted prim, her land impact could skyrocket, even if the house appeared to be only 216 prims. I showed her how it seemed her house was linked by highlighting her prims on the officers' view of the menu. She continued to pare it down, and made progress, but this afternoon -- now more than 36 hours after this situation was first noticed -- I saw it still had about 1100 prims just from her -- plus hundreds more from her room mates with still nearly triple what they were paying for. The rental is only for 710 prims.
So I sent her another message urging her to fix it -- I suggested she pick up her house and let me return the rest of the prims, and then she could take the house to a sand box to see what was wrong. I have seen this happen a few times before. It's not about me. It's not about the tenant. It's not personal. It's about an accident of land impact you have to deal with, however, or you deprive other paying tenants of their fair share of prims. A twisted prim combined with a mesh can give you atrocious land impact -- other mesh/prim link-ups do this, etc. You have to take it apart and find the culprit.
I didn't hear back from her at all, despite her being on line, so I returned a few more decks and trees to try to free up space on the sim.
So Instead, I get a ration of shit from this tenant's "sister", widouw Resident. I actually thought this person was a man, because he/she had give me loads of shit in the past when I had told him he was way over prims on another lot he was renting where he had out a whole bunch of high-prim vehicles. He kept griping and fuming about this but finally fixed it so I let it go. BTW, I had also had a problem with this same person selling things in a residential area and I had moved him to a commercial area which -- my God! -- is very cheap in my rentals. He had bitched and complained then, as well, but I let it go. So this person is already marked as a problem -- and that's on a lot without my prims (although later I added them in the sky, explaining once again in newsletters that THEY DO NOT COUNT ON YOUR COUNT).
What is it with the Spanish machismo? It afflicts women, too? Here's what I get, and then the Google translate:

So obviously this character can't grasp what is in the least and repeated over and over -- perhaps due to lack of English comprehension -- that my prims DO NOT count and that HIS PRIMS were 1700 plus. Certainly his/her "sister" got it -- she talked to me in perfectly good English and understood perfectly well the problem -- and I sent her a prim counter so she could see it on the prim counter if she didn't want to believe what I read off the "about land" menu. You can see from the photo that there is 1700 plus prims -- four numbers under her name, by contrast with three digits under mine and the other two on the lot.
BTW, the tenant of record in fact named the lot TRES LUNAS and they never asked or complained about my "moons" (large domes, shaped like moons, one on the lot, one visible from the lot) before LOL.
If someone can "buy me 20 times" then...why are they paying me US $7.40 a month for this lot, and for another two lots, US $6.07 each per month? Go and get a homestead for US $95 or US $125, then, big spender!
Yes, a total of nearly US $20 per month for three lots on three sims may be a big expense in Spain, but hey, these tenants have literally been here for years, and I make these cheap rentals available precisely for people like them.
But for how much longer?
Past dialogues -- I don't know why people put up so much fuss about notices of too many prims, it's not personal, and get your own damn prim counter, there are free ones, I hand out free ones in fact now, but honestly, it's the attitude problem.
