Here are some winter places to hang out at the SL Public Land Preserve:
I will hang out here for awhile - still decorating -- while I add to the Narnia Quest and decorate the castle some more.

- The ultimate winter story! You can either collect the clues and quest items to complete the quest for prizes or just wander among the many worlds via the ponds and find freebies and $10 gatchas.
If you already have the rings or purchased them at the office, put on the green ring to go directly to the ponds and the yellow ring to jump into worlds, as in the story.
- Skip some steps and find your way out of the wardrobe to the Land of Spare Oom and Mr. Tumnus' cosy home where there are gifts. To do the quest you will need to start at the Garden House.
Wintery hangout. To get to the witch's house, you need to find the quest object.
We don't have the prims for the ice shack this year but come and hang out with Babushka and see your fortune and freebies.
Skating rink and organ and nearby Linden trail.
See what's cooking, go Christmas shopping on the plaza, visit the Rekviem Cafe, and icebergs in the nearby Linden Sea.
Go to the "Chill" Level and much else to explore.

1. WINTER RENTALS
A few winter rentals remain:
$105/150 prims. Camp site in Grote where there is also a lodge with $25 and $50 rentals.
$105/150 Winter Tibetan home in the sky
$155/200 prims. New geodesic dome on the mountain. Visit the nearby Shinto shrine.
$105/150 snow cabin by Linden trail
$255/250 prims. Cottage included.
Snow sim with Buddhist caves under construction. Go up in the sky for the caravanserai and a few skyboxes remain.

2. Very soon Henry Hutchence's wife in RL will have a baby so we are now somewhat preoccupied! He will disappear from sight soon for actual parental leave and at some point I hope to fly down to visit them if health improves. So...talk among yourselves!
Write [email protected] if you have any urgent requests to remove houses or furniture and also to be upgraded to resident powers to use ban, media, set landing, change parcel etc.
Remember you are in self-service rentals! Join the open groups on your own for $1 using the group joiners on site. Any room mate joins the same open group you did. Activate and you can begin to decorate immediately and set home.
If you *can't* rez it's because:
A. You joined the wrong group for that sim. Right click on the land to see the group to join or click on "i" at the top of the screen in the search bar.
B. The previous tenant turned off "everyone build" -- you will need resident powers to override this. Send an email to [email protected]. After you are upgraded, then you yourself can turn it on or off and make the other land settings needed.
C. Your house or sky box suffers from "mesh bounce" which is a known issue when attempts to rez mesh on mesh get the message "The owner of the group does not allow..." If you have the right group, then rez or drop a prim to rez the mesh on.
D. Remember that in a group, prims work differently. You draw from the group's total on that sim and are not limited to the individual parcel you may be on. Don't go over your limit as you take them from others.
