Note the NEW MAIN OFFICE LOCATION IN RAVENGLASS
This is where you can pick up a copy of this newsletter with all the landmarks in it properly.
Good Evening!
Note the NEW location above of the Ravenglass Main Office on the Ravenglass sim roadside. The old office space in Maryport now has a new owner and I will use this smaller location for LATEST LISTINGS and EVENTS. A new PORTALS area is being built on another sim to take you to various rentals communities, info coming soon. Gifts are at the SL20B exhibit this month.
1) Happy SL20B!
Second Life is 20 years old, can you imagine! We had a Metaverse before it was a thing! I'm still a newbie at only almost 19 this year, but I've witnessed a lot of history!
So I have an conceptual art exhibit and a 17,000 word essay of course : ) It's broken up into 18 vignettes -- you can skim! Let us say history is written by the victors, and Mainland rentals agents are not among the winners of this game. But SL remains a deep fascination! There are over a dozen freebies, some interesting vintage items, at my exhibit:
I also have 2 updated freebies at this SL20B location, right next to my exhibit as it happens:
This year, there's a directory of all the SL20B exhibits:

Let me note as well a few locations in the SL20B spaces of our fellow tenants, builders, and Mainland community colleagues:

We have multiple locations in the BBB stamp game:
and Mainland Appreciation Association in Jinghi is part of the BBB's Jeogeot's Citizens
Learn to spell that continent's name!
Note that the Honorary Consulate of Titania is temporarily closed and will hopefully reopen in the Lindens' new Ranchette area coming soon which will have 1024 & 2048 m2 size lots.
2) You may have noticed a few other SL Public Land Preserve locations retired or temporarily closed like "Memorial to the Victims of Mass Shooters" and "Memorial to the Victims of Communism". Some of these will re-open at other locations; others not.
We can't afford to keep paying tier on locations without visitors, so if you value a land preserve location near you, visit it and hit the tip jars now and then -- they all have gifts and many have been updated recently with new gifts.
You can pick up the latest listings at Botany's Grove, where we also have a number of new sky boxes for rent:
While in Carlisle see some waterfront rentals suitable for houseboats or docks. Bring your own or ask to place ours:
3) Algonquin Hotel, that Victorian pile that was a renovated vampires' castle turned into a tribute to New York State (apples!) has been closed and the mountain abandoned, and it will likely reopen in Winnipeg in place of the old castle there now. Although possibly some place with a greater vista view.
We really loved the view in Motocyclone on to the Japanese beach, and we had three themed bars in that tower! It was a rather eclectic experiment, however, ranging from goth to future space octopods and worst of all, it was in G. We know how people fear G -- their enemies AR them there or possibly a passing Linden (they are rare). So it had to go, and tenants there have been moved to other locations. Half a sim is US $40 a month. 25L rentals don't cover that tier for us, and $150 rentals have to stay full. So it's a math problem.
Note: we prefer to abandon land than sell it for the abysmally low prices on the market now (often less than the $1/m you pay to LL for abandoned land!) -- and then see it chopped up to smithereens. So if you have more than a half sim of tier, check out the mountain in Motocyclone, it's a beautiful property!
4) Another G sim where we had to abandon land was the unfortunately named Rowling. The Siths have massively invaded there and have now moved to the mainland as well (they are supposedly required for a Star Wars RP game born on the Teen Grid, but our own Henry Hutchence, who was on the Teen Grid for years, doesn't recall them at all -- maybe because he played WoW?)
But we refuse to be driven from our home and workshop in Rowling and we still have some rentals open there, so come and enjoy the view, the fabulous old Linden builds, the river, and roads with less traffic. You're also welcome to hang out in my shacks, the bunker, and the workshop:
5) Summer camping! Hector Lake is beautiful this time of year:
$130/175 prims
$155/200 prims
6) NEW! We have 8f8's new So'l Villa on La Montana Rosa, with a sky platform. Management prims don't count.. That set has a zillion plants and we didn't put them all out, but some:
$405/600 prims
Also at LMR:
$685/950 prims
7) More different sizes of sky platforms available in Winnipeg:
$355/500 prims - donate 512 m2 to the group and pay no cash rent.
$990/1406 prims
8) Narnia Quest
Parts of the Narnia quest were recently moved, so if you are saving your progress, you will have to re-save some locations -- see the signs at the entrance:
If you want to jump in and sample the quest, come to the famous Land of Spare Room and see the magical wardrobe -- you will need to find the rings for the journey, and one other quest object to get out of this room to the Lam Post, then look some more to get to Mr. Tumnus' house -- and then Narnia proper.
Take a last look at Lazarus Mountain and Glass Lake in Moraine, as we are running out of prims and this will go soon, and be replaced by a smaller but famous scene : )
9) Also the Moraine Bed & Breakfast is updated and rooms are being revised, so take a look!
$150/200 prims
10) Lovely waterfronts in Hite which have become available, use our house or ask to place your own:
$535/700 prims. Sailable waterfront on peninsula in Hidden Lakes. Ask for our Lake House or place your own.
$510/600 prims. Use our home or ask to remove and place your own.
Also some cottages available in Hite:
Remember that can refund from a Ravenglass rental, and if you rent again in our system, the cancellation fee is returned to you manually. So feel free to hop around and explore our vacation rentals, from B&Bs to larger waterfronts. Have fun!
