Are you PLAGUED MERCILESSLY by constant annoying messages to put in your PIN for Messenger because of these new end-to-end encrypted chats you didn't ask for?
Are you frustrated and baffled as to WHERE you can RESET YOUR PIN? Here is the pathway:
1. You can't do this on your desktop on Facebook OR Messenger! That's the secret! Some help pages take you to resetting the PIN on "Facebook Payments" but that's useless for *Messenger* -- it's only 4 digits and the Messenger required pin is 6, that's how you know it's the wrong one.
3. Go inside Messenger app and find SETTINGS, on the Android it is the gearshaft in the upper right-hand corner.
4. Scroll down to Privacy & Safety
5. Next, go to End-to-end Encrypted Chats
6. Now, counterintuitively because it doesn't seem like a thing to reset a PIN at, click Message Storage.
7. In Message Storage, voila, you will see RESET PIN in the middle of the screen on the Android (likely similar on iPhone).
8. Pick a 6-digit PIN that you will remember because otherwise you will constantly be resetting a one-time pin or finding your way back here *every time you use Messenger, encryption is imposed on you.*
